I decided to reinstall Disqus for my new theme.. and tackle the task of customizing the CSS of Disqus to match. To anyone who has actually looked at a complete copy of the Disqus CSS, it’s not particularly pleasant. I spent several hours getting it to look like it does now, and the majority of that time was consumed by failures.

I would still prefer to have the text entry fields be black, but the main one refuses to change, ~~so I eventually gave up.~~ Fixed.

The comments are only accessible on the permalink of a page.

I wanted to take a break from all the schoolwork, and do something fun. So I made an image blog.

The format is inspired by The Jon Palmer, the ‘theme’ is a variation on Lukas’s “notheme,” and basically it’s 2x1 aspect ratio photos, which link to their source/more info, one after the next. I imagine the images will be architecture, design, things that might be termed “postmodern” and who knows what else…

I’ll plug it again in a week or whatever, at some point when there’s enough images for people to get a feel for what’s going on.

Also, it could be a group blog, if someone is interested and has compatible interests/taste. faucet at gmail dot com

So, this is beautiful, and I have a question. I’ve looked through the source, and I can’t manage to figure out how you achieved the 2:1 image dimensions.. How does it work?

I, uh, crop them before I upload them. :)

Oh, darn. I thought there was some sort of hidden tumblr functionality that I was missing out on. I’m much too lazy to do that.. but thanks for the answer. :P

Suddenly! I question why I’m thinking about applying to art school. Industrial Design is what interests me, yeah, but it’s not a prerequisite to have a degree in I.D. to become one, no. But to be an engineer or mathematician or anything else, almost definitely. So instead of focusing on art schools I’ll be looking at more general institutions, ones that offer engineering and math, along with arts and liberal arts. Smorgasbord of stuff. That said, a RISD/Brown dual-degree would still be fantastic…

check out CU boulder, and not just because I’m there

Ignore Scotty, check out UC! (but for realz, ID and engineering and more!)

This is why UC and CMU are my favorites, rather than the design schools I’m applying to..
